Networking and Communication Features in Server 2003
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Family now can support IPv6 and IPv4/IPv6 coexistence through technologies such as ISATAP and 6to4. PPPoE can works with broadband connections to an ISP without having any application. IPSec can be use over NAT. RADIUS has also been improved, so troubleshooting of authentication problems are now easier than windows 2000. RADIUS implementation & Internet Authentication Service (IAS) are able to support 802.1X authentication and cross-forest authentication. Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) protects your machine to unsecured networks. ICF secure our local area networks, VPN, dial-up, and PPPoE connections against attacks. ICF can be use to filter the network connection of DNS server so only DNS requests are passed through. ICF included in 32-bit OS versions Server 2003 Family instead of Web and Datacenter Editions, or with any of the 64-bit versions.
