It is a web server product. Within server 2003, its version of IIS 6.0 included all versions. IIS 6.0 is a great jump over in the field of reliability, availability, management and security. IIS 6.0 can stop and restart Web sites and applications. It can change our server’s configuration without restart. IIS 6.0 was the very climbable version of IIS, and can support more Web sites on a server. Web server management is easier in this server using CLI scripting. The metabase can store in XML configuration file. Which has been improved backup, restore, recover, troubleshoot and modification of the metabase. It also supports .NET Framework, ASP .NET, and many varieties of languages also.

It is in our hand that when to install IIS as when we needed it and lock it down, means the services that our organization requires. Within this server IIS only deliver static content, until we configure it for dynamic content. It needs an administrator to add necessary dynamic extensions to the Web services extensions list. Until they added to this list, IIS will not support them; this will stop attackers from calling unsecured dynamic pages.
